Gloam collects as little as we can: email (for accounts and/or the newsletter), password hash for accounts, optional display name, access status if ever granted, newsletter unsubscribe tokens, and the age-gate cookie. We do not sell personal information or mailing lists. We do not publish your legal name on the site.

What we store

• Newsletter email and a one-click unsubscribe token (no password required to join the list)
• Account email and hashed password, if you create an account
• Payment-processor customer identifiers only if paid access ever goes live and you check out
• A first-party cookie confirming you passed the 18+ gate
• Session cookies for sign-in

Processors

Hosting (Cloudflare) and our email send provider (Resend), when configured, see operational data needed to run the site and send publish updates. Newsletter mail is sent from updates@gloam.press. Stories are published under pen names. Paid billing is not live; if it launches later, charges stay between you and the payment processor. Desk mail remains desk@gloam.press.

Your choices

Use the unsubscribe link in any newsletter (or open the token URL we include) to leave the list in one click. Email desk@gloam.press to request account deletion, a hand removal from the newsletter, or a copy of the data we hold for your account. There is no live charge to cancel today.

This notice describes current practice for Gloam on gloam.press. Jurisdiction- specific rights (for example GDPR or CCPA access requests) can be exercised through the same desk address.
